Hi, I’m Cathy Davies and I have been in the Hair and Beauty Industry for 25 years.
I trained as a hairstylist in Liverpool and went on to own hair salons as well as holistic beauty salons in London, Italy, Sardinia, France, Corsica, Greek mainland and Greek islands, Turkey, Austria.
The key areas of focus in my salons, apart from excellent cutting and colouring skills, were communication and after care. Communication between the hair stylist and client is vital in achieving a hair style that the client is happy with. Teaching our clients how to maintain their new hairstyle at home was also a major part of our service. We did this by allowing them to hold the brush and hair dryer and guiding them through the drying and finishing process. Haircare products are crucial in enhancing a style and we advised on what and how much to use. We worked with some of the leading hair brands such as L’oreal, Paul Mitchell, KMS, L’anza, Wella.
In 2003 I decided to call it a day and become a full time Mum to my then 2, now 3 fantastic children. Since then I have had the chance to experience what it is like to be ‘the client’ and have learned what it’s like to be on the other side. (Boy it can be difficult getting the hairstyle you want can’t it?!)
I wanted to use this experience, as well as my hairdressing expertise to help people who must be having the same problems as me. And so ‘Wow Factor Hair’ was born.
